Seeking on-call substitutes to fill in as needed throughout the 2025-2026 school year.  Must be at least 18 years old and willing or have already attained CPR and First Aid certification, TB test and Criminal Background Check.  Montessori experience preferred. 

$20/hour compensation

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Lead Teacher to inspire young learners in our vibrant early childhood education environment at Hawthorn Montessori School. As a key leader in our 3.5-6 year old primary classroom, you will foster a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere that promotes holistic development. Your expertise in Montessori methods will guide children through their educational journey, encouraging independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experiences of preschool and kindergarten aged children while collaborating with a team committed to excellence in early childhood education.

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Montessori teaching certification or credential through AMS, AMI, or MACTE.

  • Proven classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment

  • Extensive knowledge of childhood development stages, special education needs, and early intervention strategies

  • Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education alongside other core subjects like math and physical education

  • Experience working with children across preschool to kindergarten age groups in daycare or private school settings

  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners

  • Familiarity child welfare policies within early childhood education contexts

  • A minimum of 3 years lead teacher experience in a Montessori environment required. Eligible applicants should feel comfortable and excited by the opportunity to work independently. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

We are seeking a warm, reliable Montessori Assistant Teacher to support our child-centered classroom. This role is ideal for someone who values respectful interactions, enjoys working with young children, and is interested in Montessori education.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead guide in maintaining a calm, orderly classroom

  • Prepare and care for Montessori materials

  • Observe and respond thoughtfully to children’s needs

  • Assist with daily routines (snack, toileting, transitions, outdoor time)

  • Model grace, courtesy, and respect in all interactions
