We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Lead Teacher to inspire young learners in our vibrant early childhood education environment at Hawthorn Montessori School. As a key leader in our 3.5-6 year old primary classroom, you will foster a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere that promotes holistic development. Your expertise in Montessori methods will guide children through their educational journey, encouraging independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experiences of preschool and kindergarten aged children while collaborating with a team committed to excellence in early childhood education.
Requirements:

Valid Montessori teaching certification or credential through AMS, AMI, or MACTE.

Proven classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment

Extensive knowledge of childhood development stages, special education needs, and early intervention strategies

Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education alongside other core subjects like math and physical education

Experience working with children across preschool to kindergarten age groups in daycare or private school settings

Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners

Familiarity child welfare policies within early childhood education contexts

A minimum of 3 years lead teacher experience in a Montessori environment required. Eligible applicants should feel comfortable and excited by the opportunity to work independently. We are seeking a warm, reliable Montessori Assistant Teacher to support our child-centered classroom. This role is ideal for someone who values respectful interactions, enjoys working with young children, and is interested in Montessori education.
Responsibilities:

Support the lead guide in maintaining a calm, orderly classroom

Prepare and care for Montessori materials

Observe and respond thoughtfully to children’s needs

Assist with daily routines (snack, toileting, transitions, outdoor time)

Model grace, courtesy, and respect in all interactions
Must be at least 18 years old and willing or have already attained CPR and First Aid certification, TB test and Criminal Background Check. Montessori experience preferred.
