The Absorbent Mind: 3-6 Year Olds

BEGINNING MONTESSORI

Maria Montessori’s methods teach children according to planes of development. The Absorbent Mind is the developmental plane of children ages 3 through 6 years old. We use authentic Montessori methods & materials to create a stimulating, hands-on learning experience based on the observable development and needs of each individual child.

Teachers guide children towards learning goals that create independence, enhance coordination, and develop their sense of order and concentration. Our school environment aims to create a foundation for all later learning.

KINDERGARTEN ENRICHMENT

The Kindergarten student is in a transformative year of the 3 year cycle of a Montessori classroom. Kindergarten-ready children are taught leadership through modeling kindness and compassion to younger children in their classroom community. Kindergarten lessons prepare children for their next environment so they continue their learning journey with confidence.  They begin project-based learning and participate in daily small group lessons focused on core educational subjects.  Children must be 5 by August 31 to be considered for our Kindergarten program.

OPTIONAL AFTER CARE

Our staff creates a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to unwind from the school day through play, imagination and art.  After care operates from 3:30pm-5:30pm.

The child who has felt a strong love for his surroundings and for all living creatures, who has discovered joy and enthusiasm in work, gives us reason to hope that humanity can develop in a new direction.
